Neil Newstead disappointing outing at Brands Hatch GP

Neil Newstead headed to his local track the famous and Britain’s best loved motor racing circuit Brands Hatch GP confident of some good results last weekend, but this was not to happen.
Following the large accident at Donington just two weeks before, which saw Newstead’s car collected and thrown 30 foot in the air rolling, the Oakfield Motorsport team had a high task in getting the car ready.
The car was finished as planned, and on circuit ready for the weekend on Friday, unfortunately there where a number of issues that still needed to be resolved, which halted the test day, continued through to qualifying, and race 1 on Saturday. The Oakfield Motorsport team worked nonstop before race 2 on Sunday afternoon, which resolved all issues, only for a catastrophic engine failure during the race.
Newstead Qualified P17, Race 1 Finished P15, Race 2 Finished P15.

Newstead’s next racing will be at Silverstone National Circuit on the 29 – 29 May 2016.

What a weekend, we have had such a manic couple of weeks rebuilding the car, and just to be at Brands this weekend is what makes our team great, the people within the team and the great support and assistance we have received has been fantastic.
Whilst not an ideal weekends racing, the team as usual displayed true skills, professionalism and dedication never giving up.
A truly magnificent effort by Oakfield Motorsport, and all of our sponsors, friends and family.
